And this is where the topic comes in. Ladies & Gentleman, this is what I call "Procrastination". The reason why the world isn't as productive than it can actually be. The reason why we pass up our homework late, the reason why we're less smart than we can actually be, the reason why obesity is rising (wait, isn't it laziness? But it relates somehow) and so on and so forth. Everyone procrastinates definitely, it's human nature but it's definitely not something to be proud of guys. lol. I always see people posting on twitter about them procrastinating and they seem so proud of it ._. Why are you proud of it?
In my opinion, it's quite impossible to stop procrastinating because like I said, human nature (: But you can LEARN to procrastinate less. First of all, when you've realised that you're already procrastinating, that's the time for you to move your ass and start doing whatever you're supposed to do. Secondly, the reason why many people procrastinate especially homework is because they don't have the heart to do it which is pretty darn normal because it's bloody homework. But it's not impossible to put your heart into your homework, I've done it before so yeah (: You can try making homework more fun by making a hot drink or do it in a cosy environment. It gets me excited to do my homework and I feel smart after that. hehe. If you find it difficult to will yourself to do your homework, you could always do it this way. For example you wanna go to the park or something, so you tell yourself that you can only go to the park when you're done with your homework. Set it as your priority, that's how I do it sometimes. Homework first before anything else, that's how I get my things done. Set your priorities right. And don't ever lie to yourself like, "oh I can finish this chem paper in 10 minutes so I'll do it tomorrow morning." We all know you can't and you'll just end up copying it yes? So don't lie to yourself.
The other thing that people commonly procrastinate is exercising. Yes, it's a mix of both laziness and procrastination. Again, it's about the will to do it. "It's alright, I can do it in the afternoon, I'll nap first." or "I'll just do extras next week to replace the one I'm missing." if you don't have the will to do it, obviously you won't want to do and you won't enjoy your workout. First, you need the will until you would want to look forward to every workout session than think positive during the sessions. The only way to improve is to actually do it. So if you're gonna go procrastinating, don't go complaining that you're fat and shit because it's your own fault. Set little goals to reach your main goal. Inspire yourself everyday, check your everyday progress (:
But in the end, no one can force you except yourself. I can tell you a billion times to get your ass up to do it, but you can choose not to listen. Think about it, procrastination doesn't benefit us in anyway. It makes life more difficult for us. We have to rush through our homework, we'll regret not working out and it makes us more stressed out. So when you think about procrastinating, think about the advantages of it. NOTHING, exactly! You could make a to-do-list for yourself everyday, after school, make a list of the things you're suppose to complete than arrange them from the most important to the least important (: Then, make sure all of it are crossed out by the end of the day. This way works most effective for me, you can try it if you like (: Time to get yo' ass up and start workin' lazy bums!
What if you don't feel the same way about me?
Love Rachel*
