Resolutions? Oops.

Amen.
He has a point. HAHA.

Yay I finally found something to blog about haha. But it's just a short read.

So everyone starts of their new year excited, got a long list of things you wanna do and so many things you wanna achieve. But then later in the year we totally forget about it then the next year again, "Ok, I'm gonna stick to my resolutions this time for real. I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna study an hour everyday! Exercise 3 times a week!" and then other stuff you most likely won't do haha. Trust me, been there, done that.

I used to write down my resolutions every year, I list down my goals, stick em next to my bed so I'll be reminded of it every single day. But sooner or later, I realised that it was pointless for me because it seemed so impossible. Let's use an example, " [ ] Lose 10kg" And boom. There's no direction or what so ever. It's just in my face right there, "lose weight". So as I got older, I realised my goals were kinda not achievable because it was such a huge step for me. You can't just lose 10kg without having any direction.  I then started making smaller goals that could help me with my weight loss. For example, " Drink 2 litres of water a day", "Have a vegetarian day", so on and so forth. From then on, I realised that these small steps were really helping me.

It's hard to change old habits. You can't just from not studying at all to study an hour everyday. You and I know that it ain't gonna work. It's too huge of a step. But you can take baby steps to that very goal. Start off with finish one chapter every sundays then when maybe exams are closer, you increase the times. What really helped me was writing these goals down in a personal book. I have a journal and I write em down so that I'm always reminded of it. Instead of listing down goals that are very difficult to achieve, I list mini goals that could help me achieve my bigger ones. It just makes it more realistic for you and easier too. Then maybe this time you will actually stick to it throughout the whole year.

If you're gonna write down a goal you wanna achieve, write down WHY you wanna achieve it. You must have a reason for listing it down. When you're slacking off, go back to the main reason why you even thought of it in the first place. But I can't guarantee you that just listing down your goals will help you want to carry them out. You need to WANT to achieve it. As the saying goes, "When there's a will, there's a way." If you don't have the will, it means that you never wanted to achieve it in the first place any way. When you do something, put your heart to it. Don't do it halfway. Finish it. It's alright to wander off your goal sometimes, but you have to remember to get back to it.

Remember, be real when you write your goals. Don't write down something YOU YOURSELF know that you won't have the heart to achieve it. Take baby steps. You gotta learn how to float before you swim :) Try different small ways to get yourself where you want to be. Hopefully when the year ends, you can tick some stuff off your list this time. Good luck with your resolutions or goals that you would really like to achieve this year. :) Please let me know what kind of content you guys wanna read, it can be about anything and I'll try my best to blog about it. I don't know, I'm kinda lost and sooner or later I don't know what I'll blog about anymore. haha.

Love Rachel*
